If you would like to find out more about the Southgate Cycling Club, then you can:

1. Send us an e-mail (general enquires)
2. Turn up at the club room on Club Night
3. Turn up with a road worthy bike and lots of energy for a Sunday Club Run.
   You can join us at the start or the morning stop or even at lunch.
   Please check the Runs List to see if the start time or location has changed, or if the Sunday Ride has been replaced by a special event.

How to join our Club and what it costs

To join the club, you will need to ride with the club on at least 3 Sunday club runs.
This way you'll know if we are the right club for you --- and we get to evaluate your cycling performance and that of your machine.

So pick a sunday from the Club Runs Schedule and just turn up and ride with us!

After riding on three Sunday Club Runs, you will be offered a Membership form by our Recruitment Officer (George) and you'll need to be nominated by one of the Club Committee Members for your membership application to be forwarded to the Club Committee for approval.
The Club Committee meets once every two months - and in the mean time you are welcome to continue cycling with us.

Once your membership has been approved by the Club Committee you will be sent a Club Handbook and a request for the Club Fees (currently £11.00 per year) and if you are not already a member of the CTC, you will need to apply for membership of the CTC (currently about £32.00) for insurance purposes.

The yearly Club Fee entitles you to ride with the club each Sunday.
Attendance at other events may incur further costs - usually these are very small amounts, but depend on the event, some are shown below and are subject to review.

For example:

• Attendance at the fortnightly Club Nights are £1.00 per evening (to cover cost of tea and biscuits)
• Club Time Trials cost £2.00 per race.
• Sportives - you pay the entrance fee.
• Audaxes - you pay the entrance fee - membership of AUK and/or CTC may afford discounts.
• Weekend Cycling Trips cost about £30 for the weekend - this covers the cost of the Youth Hostel accommodation. Food and any transport costs are seperate.
